Psychotherapy

Taylor Rechtschaffen, LMFT

Therapy can be a helpful aid in a time of confusion or difficulty. It can also be a place to focus on growing as a human and to get in touch with your authentic self.

Whether you are new to therapy, have tried it a few times, or have more experience with the process, I can meet you where you are.

Sometimes you will have an acute issue to address, and other times you will be coming in with only a general sense that something needs shifting. Either way, my goal is to help you learn more skillful ways to navigate any and all situations so that you feel more resourced, strong, confident, and whole.

I primarily work with adult individuals. Occasionally, I can work with pre-teen or adolescents depending on the circumstances which we can discuss if you contact me.

My Approach

I draw upon therapeutic modalities including Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, and Humanistic psychology. These modalities utilize your inherent ability to imagine different stories of how things are and therefore literally change your brain and experience of life. My primary, underlying approach is to be relational and genuinely present with you. Emotional injury happens in relationship and is therefore healed in relationship.

Let’s see if we’re a good fit.

Fees

My fee is $200 for a 50-minute session. I am committed to working within a range of socio-economic factors and have limited spaces at sliding scale fees.

Insurance

I do not accept insurance. I can write up a receipt for services rendered that can be submitted for reimbursement. Check with your insurance company if this will be sufficient, as some are able to accommodate this.

Location

Virtual over Zoom or telephone.
Virtual and phone sessions are effective ways to do therapy in many cases and have proven to be profound channels for healing and growth. In our initial sessions, we will asses whether tele-health is appropriate for your current situation. Having a private location where you can participate fully in the therapy session is essential, without any interruptions from people (or pets ideally, though I support occasional animal visitations!) in your environment.
