About Taylor

My academic training in Counseling Psychology was completed at the California Institute of Integral Studies and supplemented by a year of training in Internal Family Systems (IFS). This specialized modality of IFS is very effective in finding root causes of suffering and unwinding the habitual patterns perpetuating this suffering. I am passionate about offering it to clients because it is a way we can bring therapy into everyday life and take responsibility for healing ourselves. I also spent a year doing clinical work in the Gestalt Therapy based Church Street Counseling Center.

I am a certified Feeding Your Demons facilitator. This is a guided process originating in visualization practices from Tibetan Buddhism combined with Gestalt therapy parts work. The aim is to transform challenging emotions or mind-states into valuable allies and inner wisdom by turning towards what afflicts us with powerful love instead of trying to run away or hid from what bothers us, which just causes those things to stick around longer in the shadows.

Underpinning my therapeutic training are two decades of transformational explorations including numerous meditation retreats, dedicated study into the nature of the human experience, indigenous vision quests, dance, making art, sound healing, world travel, the study of permaculture and nature connection, and sacred sexuality. A year of surviving breast cancer gave me a deep opportunity to put my psychological and spiritual tools to the test, profoundly increasing my belief in and gratitude of the power of these tools.
